Crank Snout

I am using a later model crank with the longer snout in my 1957 Golden Hawk clone engine. The 1957 289 I am using had the shorter snout on the original crankshaft. Will I run into any problems with the longer snout on the crank using the 1957 harmonic balancer? I have the longer bolt and plan on putting the supercharger back on so I will have the wide pulley in the front for the supercharger belt. Thanks!

The original spacer washer, also called a lock plate, will not fit over the end of the long nose crank. The result of that is excessive crankshaft end play and eventual bearing failure. You need the new spacer part no. 1557000, or you could just enlarge the center hole in your spacer by about 1/8".
