    Door check pins

    Just got a set of door check pins from SI to replace the screws being used before. Is the bottom of the pin supposed to be flared out or something? Or does the pin just sit there. Seems like it could bounce out when there is no tension on it.

      I use a stainless steel 1/4" x 1/2" button head allen and a nylock, works and looks just fine. Tighten up the nylock until just snug. Using a nylock nut it will not back off.

        It doesn't take much peening to keep it from backing out. I use a body dolly underneath and a hammer on top; a couple of confident taps and your done. Without a dolly, another hammer would suffice.

          I too use a 1/4" bolt. I don't use a nut. Yet to have one come out.
