Are Hawk and Sedan front bumpers the same?

I keep looking at my '56 sedan bumper and am wondering if it's the same as a Hawk bumper. They look the same to me, but I dunno.

I was thinking of using a '64 Hawk front bumper if it will work (because I can get a real good deal on a PERFECT one!).

According to the Hollander interchange manual, Yes the are the same.

What I want to know is, why does the interchange manual say the '55 front bumper is different? Maybe different locations for the bolt holes? Or fewer bolt holes? [?][?]

The '55 and '56 bumpers are the same BUT different. On the '56,
there are only 8 total holes (with the center 2 for the
lic. plate and these are square holes). For the '55 year(Speedster bumper),there are a total of 10 holes in the bumper with the
additional 2 holes being square holes for mounted the
fog lights. So as far as I know, a 10 hole bumper on a
Hawk would be incorrect.

Correct. BTW, I will have a beautifully replated 10 hole fr. bumper for a 55 for sale at SB if it doesn't sell first. Will have some other misc chrome items there also.
