no reverse gear in 150 automatic and

I've had the transmission rebuilt and now there is no reverse gear. What is the problem?
I have all forward gears. About a month ago I got in and started the 6 cyl. auto. and I only had drive and when I put it in reverse there was no reverse and so I increased the rpm and bam a metallic sound and I shut it off. The sprague gear was fried and so this led to a total rebuild.
Today, new rebuild and no reverse.
Does the supplement auto. trans manual need any additions or corrections to script or photos ????

You would probably want to start with a pressure test at the reverse servo on the left side of the trans.
Are you referring to a revised page 8 in the Champion supplement?

When you lose reverse; you will also lose at least one other function. Try putting it down in low and drive the car and see if you have engine braking. If not, you have lost application of the low/reverse band. A broken band or strut or servo. Do you still have high gear? If not the problem is in the reverse/high drum; potentially more serious. But I also wonder if the sprag was installed backwards....

If you are referring to the 11 page Champion supplement, page 8 is an overlay with 3 photos in the right hand column. It appears the original page had one photo and one large 1/2 page illustration. I'm not aware of any bulletins or letters about a correction or amendment to that publication, so I had always figured the revision was made at the factory before the manuals were distributed.
