  • 1950 Door Locks

A qustion about locking the doors on my 1950 Starlight Commander. Will the doors lock any other way without using the key on the outside of the door? Can one accidently lock the doors from the inside or outside? Just completed restoration and can't remember, it's been so long. I don't want to make a mistake at this point. Thanks

This may sound crazy, but just try all the combinations (with the key in your pocket of course) on both doors.

WEll they work the same way as my 49 . The only way to lock them from the outside is with a key. To lock them while you are inside push the handle towards the front of the car. Then they are locked while driving

Can't lock yourself out of a Studebaker unless you want to, even the four door Larks. The front doors will only lock with a key unless you are sitting inside the car.
