  • Painting Question

I am repainting some interior parts. In particular, the steering column jacket. There are some chips where bare metal shows but mostly the grey/brown primer is intact.

That primer seems really tough. The jacket will fit in by sandblaster and I can bast it to clean metal OR would it be best to clean and repaint leaving the original primer in place?

    thanks for opinions

Test some of the topcoat over the original primer, if the modern Tech. paint is compatible with the old, leave it!

If it fish-eyes, lifts or wrinkles, you'll KNOW!
