  • Body / Glass: 1960 Lark Windshield Replacement Question

I'm putting the windshield back in with a new gasket and have read the service manual, but it's a bit unclear regarding the windshield stainless trim pieces.

It shows the top and bottom trim being installed at the same time as the windshield, but almost appears to indicate the side pieces go in after? Is that correct or do they all go in when the windshield is installed? 1960 Lark convertible - Regal trim.

The sides slip onto the top and bottom trim after the glass is in and screws to the windshield post.

Manual is correct. Top and bottom stainless goes in the rubber before it goes on the glass and glass is then installed. Sides go in after windshield is in place. Been a while since I did mine, but that's what I remember doing. Good luck.

          Thanks Bob,

BTW: I"ve been meaning to mention to you that in looking through the 1960 Studebaker Passenger car salesman's Fact Book, it lists the 1960 convertible top options as "black" and "tan", not "white" as some of the "experts" may have told you.

Thanks for the info Dan. I also have an article indicating you could order cloth on your seats which is not seen very often today. We need to know these things when you get it judged at a meet.
