Nope. The mechanical pump will fail 10 times before the CUBE, so no benefit re: reliability. Further, the engine mounted mechanical pump is just another hot spot for gas to have to pass through, en route to the carb, so just another opportunity for vapor lock.

Contrary to popular practice, I mount the CUBE pump in front of the radiator / AC condenser, on the gravel shield. It is designed to pull and push fuel, so no problem drawing fuel from the tank, and the pump gets the coolest air available. I mouth them on rubber stantions, so they run nice and quiet, but must also use a ground wire.

The car 100% electric fuel pump...the truck only to fill the float bowls or when I'm stuck in traffic and it hot outside. cheers, junior
