The Commander let me down for the first time today. I met my wife for lunch and when I started to leave the solenoid would click but no starter. I reached under and tapped the starter lightly, once with my hammer while she pushed the starter button and it started like it always does. I will remove the starter tomorrow and take it down the road a couple of miles to the local, experienced starter/alternator shop and get it fixed. I hope the armature and windings are ok. Maybe the brushes were sticking?

Let us know how that goes.
Hopefully it is the starter and not some other component.
Hopefully also, the rebuilder does better work than some of the hacks that used to be in business around here.Last edited by RadioRoy; 07-10-2019, 04:14 PM.RadioRoy, specializing in AM/FM conversions with auxiliary inputs for iPod/satellite/CD player. In the old car radio business since 1985.

I suppose the starter will have to wait . I went to the ER with high pulse rate and chest pains last night and am now in the hospital. No taking the starter to the shop today. Hopefully I will get out later today and get it done tomorrow.thom
