Although mine is a Champion, it should be the same for Land Cruiser. I can't remember if this was factory installed, or dealer installed, but this is the correct light for 47-49 cars. The center of the hole for mine is about 2 1/4" from the bottom.

Or just put it where you like it or where it looks best.

A switch doesn't care what voltage it's passing. The original will be fine.
The Studebaker Drivers Club has made available templates and instructions for these accessories.
If you have not joined, you should.
The SDC Studebaker Template collection is available from our web site, under "RESOURCES" and "Tech Tips, Specs and Data."

This should include instructions as well as a template for cutting any necessary holes.

    48 back up lights

Looking for info on placement of the back up lights for my 48 Land Cruiser. Saw a post on the forum saying 7" from the bottom for a '50 Studebaker posted in 2006. That thread also mentioned the switch was mounted on the steering column; does that hold true for my '48? Sounded like there were instructions for installation that had a link, but found no link. Updated to 12v system. Do I need a reducer for the switch or 12v bulbs good enough? Having Lark Works make the cables for me to the '49 specs. Hope this works. Would appreciate any help.
