    Great up grade. I do the 3 wire 10si on every car I have after the gen or reg die (or sooner). Did it on the Lark with a warning light.

      A #10 wire will work if you don't use a huge amp alternator, but it's marginal. I've done it several times on cars without any accessories and minimal load, but it's better to use at least a #8. I used #8 on my Hawk, even though I reduced the normal load by 65%. If you have a lot of load, and big amp alt. you might even want a #6.

        Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Sounds like the 3-wire alternator is the way to go but will need to add the warning light. The mounting bracket mod is doable.
