Body / Glass: Cruiser Badge

So I wanted to clean the primer off the passenger side Cruiser fender badge. When prying it off, my badge broke in half and I noticed the pins were broken off. I also discovered that the badge had been glued on to the fender. I wanted to clarify whether this was common practice.

I've included pictures. I wanted to get your opinion on whether or not this badge could be saved or if I should just purchase a replacement.

If the thin Gold flash/wash Plating is worn off of the chrome, they are done anyway, NO they were never Glued on at the Factory.

That was likely done by someone Painting the car (Earl Scheib) or doing what you did, breaking the mounting Pins off.

For an expensive full restoration, I would not call $60.00 Too much for a pair of 1343244 NOS Nameplates.

For a "Driver" you could spray them with transparent Metallic Gold Lacquer and Glue them back on.

The gold plating seemed in good shape, but without those pins, I think I'll just buy a pair of them. Thanks for your input!
