Body / Glass: Will a 63 front door latch for a Hawk work on a 64 Hawk?

My driver's door will not latch tight no matter where I adjust the striker. It jiggles very loose with about a quarter inch or more of play. The ratchet wheel on the latch that engages the striker is very worn. I can't find a new or used one for a 64 GT Hawk. There are some for 63 Hawks around on some vendors. Is there a difference? Can I make a 63 latch work on a 64?

I haven't tried it, but I would think that a 1963 latch would work if you also used the 1963 striker.
