How is the tire jack placed in the trunk and held down? Chet445

  • #2
A bolt holds the base through the tire, and goes into the floor like most cars. The jack 'body' leans on the right fender well. Originally, there was a chunk of foam it rests on , instead of bare metal. A 'clip' held it and the lug wrench via a carrage type bolt and wing nut...

Somebody has a picture out there.... ? google?

Should be like my ‘63, it’s stored on the right side of the trunk. One end of the jack goes up into the space in the corner of the trunk just above the wheel well. There is a brace on the right side of the trunk where it is secured to with a retaining bracket and a wing nut.
