  • Electrical: 1961 wiring diagram

I am sure this has been asked before but I can't seem to find the answer. I am looking at pages 6 thru 8 of the wiring diagrams and I don't find any for the 1961 Hawk. Is it the same as the 1960 or the 1962? My specific question would be, do are all of the accessory wires connect to the output side of the Ammeter? If the 1961 wiring is different could someone point me in the right direction.

The same as '60 but different than '62 because of Instrument placement.

I believe all the accessories on Studebakers are wired to the ACC. Terminal of the Ignition Switch.

But indirectly, the Ign. Switch IS powered up by the Ammeter though.
You cannot wire them to the Ammeter or they would be always ON & HOT!

The Horn, Headlights/Parking Lights, and Brake Lights are the ONLY things that are always HOT.
The Horn is only one that is not protected by a Circuit Breaker or Fuse, and SHOULD BE!
