Did you leave everything loose until you had the weight of the car on the front suspension? If you tightened everything with the wheels/suspension hanging free, you will end up with twisted rubber bushings that will groan and not want to move.

You might want to check the shock absorbers. I've seen more than one pair that likes to moan & groan.

63 hawk front suspension
The front end of my suspension is groaning at every bump and there doesn't seem to be much movement.I have tried to follow the manual, used the spreader tool and to no avail. The dimension from the floor to the underside of the wheel arch is 29 1/2" on the Lh and 29"
on the Rh side.(RHD car) Can someone shed light as to what height a correctly set up car should measure at? I had replaced the inner bushes last year, using a piece of pipe to stop squashig the ears together but the whole thing is just not moving rightAny ideas anyone??
