  • gas sender test

Can someone please walk me through testing my gas sending unit (57 Hawk) while it's off the car?

I'm afraid I don't know much about Ohms, but I do have a multitester and a 12 volt battery.

    Thank you in advance.

Sir Gallivan, (I couldn't resist, it sounded Knightly)

Everything you need to know about the resistance readings for your sending unit can be found in this thread:
    http://www.studebakerdriversclub.com...?TOPIC_ID=3309
That's a topic I started a while back, when I had similar questions. You'll have to read all the posts in that thread to get the full value out of it.

For everyone new out there, please take advantage of the "search" link at the top of the page when you have a question that you think may be a fairly commonly asked one. This forum is a wealth of information, but what you see on the first page of recent topics is only the tip of the iceberg. Chances are, especially in the technical forum, your question may have been answered here before, and usually quite thoroughly. Try a search first, and if that fails to help, then ask away!
