Engine: Installation of oil filter on 49 champion 170

I just rebuilt the engine in my 49 Champion Starlite coupe. After seeing all the slug in the pan at tare down, I want to install a oil filter to try and avoid this situation in the future. I'm trying to determine where on the engine to connect the in and out hoses.

Any info would be appreciated.

The oil supply can come from the oil pump it self, there is a 1/8 plug in the top of the pump or from the oil galley that runs from the front to the rear with three 1/8 plugs in it, you can remove any one of those plugs and attach your filter line. The return line can be plumbed directly in to the oil filler pipe with appropriate fittings. The filter is attached to a bracket that is secured to the engine by a head bolt.

Here is how I did a Full flow filter on my Champion 170. The only modification is to the pump itself I plugged the return port in the pump body and I enlarged the 1/8NPT port on top of the pump body. That's all there is to it and it works fantastic.
