A big thanks to all who told me to "pull my plug out"..
It now fits like a glove. I thought the plug was just in the center not the whole thing

To the mechanically trained eye, it seemed obvious that the Hole was bigger than the center of the Plug, but to someone unfamiliar with such things, not so much. 
That is the way you learn, BY DOING.
