  • Polished Stude Manifold

I thought while I was at taking pictures of Stude manifolds I would post some pics of my polished aluminum Stude manifold. It is one of the early Lionel Stone jobs. I will be putting it on my R1 Hawk for the summer cruises and Nationals this fall.

I gots one of them too. I love the look of polished aluminum.

A hint, if I may - get the stainless steel manifold clamps. you really need the full torque to make the LS manifold fit, unless yours was better machined than mine.

Nate one step ahead of you. Got the SS clamps from Fairborn last fall, they look great with the manifold. Also, Alan cleaned the manifold up and checked the fit and it looks pretty good. I think the earlier manifolds Lionel made are better than the later ones?

That looks really sharp, but I don't see any Left/Right cross breathing openings (equalizers) like the factory ones.

              Beautiful, Dan []

I NEED to do that to the 2 x 2 destined for my Ute. Did you purchase it like that or do it yourself? If you did it, can you share the process?

Well I have to confess no I did not do it myself. I bought the manifold from Don Simmons at Silvertone about 12 years ago and had it laying around in the garage and thought it was time to do something with it, but I wanted it polished before I put it on. I did buy the polishing stuff from Eastwood to try it, but after I read and thought about it, I found a local guy that does great work.

He is a bow tie guy but hey he does excellent work, what can I say. Super guy to work with also!

Note he shows my manifold on his website!!!!!
