squeal noise

  • Brakes: squeal noise

    at different times and not all the time i get a squealing noise when applying the brakes. also it will squeal and then all of a sudden stop. it will stop a long time and come back. the padsare fairly new the rotors show no sign of ware.thanks in advance for any info by the way it is a 64 cruiser.leonard

    Try some ant-squeal lube on the back sides of the disc pads. Available at any FLAPS. Should take care of your problem.

      Keep in mind that some of that stuff has to dry first before installing the Pads and it goes on the back of the pad , I've seen it all , Ed

        A pig will squeal if you step on it!! Of course, if you grease the pig it won't squeal as much.

            Be careful with the anti squeal stuff on Dunlop brakes, use it sparingly and just on the retainer slot on the pad. You don't want to get it on the sides of the pad or it will cause them to stickand squeal even worse.
