Body / Glass: Removing door sill

I am replacing the rubber around the doors on my 4 door 1950 Champion. The rubber at the bottom looks okay, but I want to do a complete job.
When I removed the screws on the door sills and tried to gently pry them off, they would not move and I don't want to bend them. Any suggestions on how to properly remove them?

It's been years so I could be wrong but, I believe there is a slight lip that fits in to the seal channel before the seal is glued in place. Removing the old seal and careful prying from the inside edge should free it, provided the aluminum has not galled itself to the steel. A little pre-soaking with PB Blaster may help.

The sill has screws on the inside edge which should be under the carpet. The outside edge (towards the rocker panel) has a hook shape that slips over the top edge of the weatherstrip channel. Remove all the screws, and push outwards to free the outside edge. Only then can you lift.

All the foregoing is good and accurate information, I removed mine some time ago and if memory serves me correctly, I also gently tapped on the inside edge with a small block with a saw cut in it until it was free. If there is an abundance of trim cement, heating with a hair drier may help.

Thanks everyone! I tried one sill plate this morning following your advise and it can off rather easily.
