  • Radiator for 53 Champion K body

A friend needs a radiator for his 53 Champion hardtop restoration. Is there an off-the-shelf replacement? Can one be custom made to appear original? Can he use the one from my 53 Commander K as a pattern? (They have different part numbers) Suggestions?

    Kinda confusing here as a K-body IS a "hardtop".[B)]

Sorry, I'll try to clarify. A friend and I both have 53 hardtops, mine is an 8 his is a 6. He needs a radiator, has no original for a pattern. Can he use mine as a pattern. Is there another solution?

Yeah, he can use yours as a pattern. it'll fit just fine. There MIGHT be a difference in the hose bib diameters. that would make a difference in part numbers. Another note - sorta related - is that the fan shrouds look the same but they're not. The location of the neck that the fan resides in is different from a 6 to an 8.

            Hey ddub,
If you need a 53 radiator, I have one in the barn. If you are interested, let me know. I am in Sacramento, CA. Shipping may not be too horrible.
