The seals for the cowl are available but, as Jerry indicated, Dumdum may actually be a better seal.

Thanks to all!! I am prepared for the body shop now!I will probably have more questions when he actually starts body dissasembly(Supposedly tommorrow(again).

Its a 3/8, use a nut driver. When you replace the belt molding, make certain that there are fairly heavy rubber washers on the outside of the car, sealing the hole. Else you will find rain on your right ankle. I guess Jerry covered that.

When you put them back on, get some later model fasteners. With them you don't have to get up under the dash. You just pop the little springy like well nuts into the holes and push the studs down into them. Also using the later method the molding nuts don't get over tightened and deform the molding like so many of them are.
And remember, use a fair anount of DumDum (strip calk) or your floor board will get wet everytime it rains.

'53 champion chrome removal HELP!
Hi, we are beginning preparations for paint and rechrome on this car and can not figure out how to remove the belt line moulding from below the windshield. I know abot the screw at the door , but do not know how else nor wher it is attached. I have a great desire to do this car right, so any info would be greatly appreciated.
