Mike, the factory specified thse torque figures to ensure that the washer gets pulled down tight against the inner sleeve of the bushing. That is why it MUST be done with the car's weight on the suspension. Once the inner sleeve is effectively locked to the shaft, all further movement in the bushing is accomodated by torsion in the rubber.

Those torque figures are not far off the nominal torque figures specified for fasteners of those sizes in the torque tables commonly found in handbooks. It's enought to do the job, without the risk of stripping the thread or snapping off the bolt.

It's "infinite", Jer. Not "infinate". Infinite means without end. Infinate means nothing.

The line routing is in series, with a bypass line to a separate bung on the p/s tank.
Goes from the pump to the hydroboost, then to the steering box then the return to the tank.
The hydroboost pump is set at a higher psi than a regular p/s pump.
Never thought of using the Heidt's valve on there, but I would suppose it should work.
My setup works real good, so I won't be messing with it for now.

Jeff, IIRC you're using a hydroboost as well, aren't you? In your app. probably using the GM pump with the stock PRV is the way to go, then use the Heidt's adjustable thingy *only* on the PS part of the circuit. (I assume that you have the HB tee'd off of the PS lines...)

Aw c'mon Jer! Here's what you said last September - when I'd misspelled it.

09/01/2007"??? agregious ??? Dang Bob you made me dig out my Funk & Wagnell on that one. Couldn't find that but I did find 'egregious'. That is what you meant I'm sure. You are making me get the education I never bothered with in my younger years. Most times, to keep my attention, people must use short words and very short sentences."

But you're right, of course. As long as the intent comes thru.[^]

I must be in relapsation. (Ha! a new word) [^][^]
I mean, I must be having a relapse and am reverting back to my earlier years (earlier than last Sept.) when being correct didn't mean as much to me.[]
