In 1952 and 1953 Studebaker changed the wheel cylinder guts to have pistons with o-rings. They used the same cores and shoes as used on earlier models. I have often wondered what was the real purpose behind this. The pistons are slightly smaller as are the holes on the wheel cylinder cups. Was this suppose to stop fluid from getting by the pistons? or???
In 1954 they eliminated the o-rings
Does anyone know the reason for the change??? thanks in advance
