    LAKEVILLE - Leonard A. Kelly, 85, of Lakeville, IN, passed away at 6:48 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2012 in Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 3, 1927 in Marion County, AL to Lester and Mary (Godsey) Kelly. Leonard is survived by his wife, Annie Sue (Hodgson) Kelly; son, Michael Kelly and wife, Lory; daughter, Linda and husband Jim Lipp; six grandchildren, Lori Kelly, Gwen (Jeff) Beem, Ryan (Laurie) Lipp, Donald (Lupita) Kelly, Michael (Semi) Kelly and Melissa (Sam) Ells; ten great-grandchildren, and sister, Bobbie Jean Grey of Indianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings. Leonard moved to South Bend, IN after marrying Annie Sue in Alabama to work at and later manage the Tire Service in South Bend. Leonard later began his own businesses in Lakeville -- Kelly Tires and Patgent Lines Trucking. Leonard was also active with Avanti Motor Corp. and received recognition for his hard work, management skills, and ingenuity he gave to the company. Leonard enjoyed serving in the community and mentoring those in his life, which was reflected through his service in the United States Army, Troop Leader of Cub Scouts Troop 364, Boy Scouts, and his active role in the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Posse. Leonard was a Christian man who loved God, his family, his horses and going fishing in Alabama. He worshipped at South Side Church of God. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012 at South Side Church of God, 61801 U.S. 31 S., South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow in Porter Rae Cemetery, North Liberty, IN. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN and one hour prior to the services in church. Contributions in memory of Leonard A. Kelly may be offered to South Side Church of God, 61801 U.S. 31 S., South Bend, IN 46614, Hope Rescue Mission, 532 S.
