    Winona And Dale Gittings were very helpful when we were pursuing our newly discovered interest in Studebakers. It is my understanding that they were quite involved in a chapter when they lived in the Rockford area.

    Winona L. Gittings, 82, of Naples died December 31, 2010.
    Her parents were Mildred and Walter Forcier of Detroit, MI where she was born on November 22, 1928 and continued to live in Detroit. "Windy," as her friends called her, attended Northern High School in Detroit, Michigan Tech (also in Detroit) and Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL. One of Windy's favorite pastimes was singing and throughout her life she sang with various choirs. She was a life member of the VFW Post 7721 Ladies Auxiliary and also a member of the Studebaker Drivers Club.
    Winona married Dale A. Gittings on May 17, 1994 in Loves Park, IL. She and her husband moved to Naples in 2002 and has been a resident of Naples ever since.
    In addition to her beloved husband, Dale; she leaves her brother, Larry Forcier of Waterford, MI; sister, Bonnie Lionas of Royal Oaks, MI; daughter, Margreatha Hein of Chicago, IL; son, Dale C. Gittings of Big Pine Key, FL; son, John F. Gittings of McHenry, IL; son, Brian K. Gittings of Algonquin, IL; daughter, Gail D. Miers of Huntly, IL; son, Ronald Nelson of Glendale, AZ; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
    A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, 1625 Pine Ridge Rd., Naples.
    In lieu of flowers, donations in Windy's memory may be made to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105 or to the charity of one's choice.
