  • Norm Eddy of Greenville, PA

Norman W. Eddy, age 80, of Greenville, PA, died Monday Feb. 22. Norm was a Studebaker man for many years and owned a sharp Bordeaux Red 1965 Commander V8 2-door Sedan with 3-speed stick that was very nicely restored by his sons and had been bought new (by another owner) in Jan. '65 at the local Stude-MB-Simca dealer, Carl E. Filer Co.

On Christmas Eve 1949, Norm took delivery of a new '50 Commander Starlight Coupe in dark green, from "Pop" Filer at Carl E. Filer Co.

Norm was a member of the Ohio Region SDC (Greenville's just across the Ohio border) and with his wife Ruth was a regular attendee at many of the Ohio Region SDC meets and was always at the big Wink's meet yearly.

Norm worked in various auto parts stores in Greenville and also was known to 'hang out' at Filer's and run an errand or two for them if needed. His brother was a longtime mechanic at Filer's and in fact did the pre-delivery inspection (I have the original) for my '64 Daytona.

Calling hours will be Friday Feb. 26 at 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Osborne-Williams Funeral Home, 73 Columbia Avenue, Greenville, PA 16125. Funeral service will be Saturday Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Donation preferences made by the family include the Studebaker National Museum.

    Thank you.
