  • The passing of Potomac Chapter's Editor Lynda Welsh

The Potomac Chapter of the Studebaker Drivers Club lost a dynamic member whose contributions to our organization were many. Lynda Markley Welsh, 74, of Germantown, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly at home on May 1, 2020. She was the loving wife of Murray Welsh, her husband of nearly 26 years. She enjoyed riding with Murray in their beautiful 1950 4-door Champion as they traveled to numerous Potomac Chapter meetings, picnics, chapter tours and other Studebaker events over the years. Lynda served as Editor of the Potomac Chapter’s newsletter, “The Commander,” for many years and won multiple awards from the SDC for her editing and publishing the chapter’s in-house publication. She had been a printing specialist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, from which she retired after 37 years. Donations in Mrs. Welsh’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.

That is so sad. Lynda did a great job for the Potomac Chapter. She will be missed and I for one will miss her emails to me for What's Happening. My condolences to her family.
