  • Mr. Patroni's last flight (George Kennedy)

For those who remember the original Airport movie George Kennedy (Mr.Patroni) has passed away at 91. As a kid the cigar chomping character he played when he move the stuck plane off the runway is so memorable. Below (link) is a quote of that infamous scene. I looked for the video of that scene, but it was not to be found. I did however, find the cockpit scene that precedes the stated scene.

Sorry to hear that. I've always liked him. Cool Hand Luke or Charade wouldn't be the same without him. Bye George.

Loss of another personality that could not be duplicated today. Most of George's characters are so out of today's norm, they couldn't coexist in today's reality. And, we wonder why we are in so much trouble. RIP George Kennedy.
