    First Peugeot with parking assistance.
    This took place at Arras (Pas de Calais, France) in 1927.

    Paul Johnson, Wild and Wonderful West Virginia.

    Cool post-thanks. Reminds me of the ad for an early 50's Caddy with extra wheel to accomplish the same thing.

      Interesting how that would work. The drive still comes from the rear so,...?
      Seems like you would pick which side to lock and forward or reverse for the one to push.
      Very cool until your driving along and those front wheels slap together!

        Never knew the Peugeot looked so much like Citroen in those days.

          Jeep adopted something similar with their 2005 Hurricane concept vehicle:
          This is the concept jeep hurricane. the greatest jeep ever built. hummer ford, chevy, gm have tried for years to do it, but jeep takes the lead again.


          For off-roading, I think it would be tremendously useful, provided it held up to the abuse that would take you to that end of the trail.
