I wonder if one of them had the "Mouse Trap" game as a child?

Maybe but they were pretty ingenious in their building and engineering.

Those kids need some caffeine!! Rube Goldberg devices are always fun. I look forward to seeing the Purdue effort every year.

While entertaining, it is totally disengenuous...
Scripted, pre planned. edited to the hilt....
"Has to be done today"... Yeah....right....
              But...entertaining...

Mr. Goldberg would be very proud of them.

If memory serves, isn't that what you pretty much say about everything?

                        Only when it is true........

This was a Ryan Seacrest Productions enterprise, sponsored by Coca-Cola using engineering students from Harvey Mudd University.
It's all ok with me, but it was all pre-planned, pre-designed, pre-laid out, and then they had 72 hours to 'assemble' it.
And the multiple cuts and editing took some of the believability out of it (for me)...
Like Glee builds a machine to put on a show to save the school! <lol>...Yeah, right...

I love that kind of contraption. But want to see it run through all by itself.... uninterrupted.
