Bet it only hurt for a second.

Friend of mine said he read the news report on this and the guy survived!

        Stupid DOES hurt.

it just seems like it hurts everybody who has to look at it a whole lot more than it hurts the ones who make the messes...

Funny thing is, if he was wearing a helmet (thereby showing at least one area in which he was NOT stupid) he probably sailed right over that Jersey wall barrier and landed without much more than bumps and bruises.

I would have thought there would have been more damage to his feet if he was dragged four miles ?

Perhaps the damage was less because the pavement was covered with "ASSFAULT!"

                  Bob,
We took Driver's Ed class in the sixties. This is nothing compared to videos of the reality.

My son is 15, and we attended our local Sherriff's Smart Start program last month. "Red Asphalt V" was just the beginning... they showed a lot of pix of local accidents in places we were both familiar with. Pretty graphic.

I don't ride my bike nearly as much as I used to, there are just too many drivers trying to kill me when I go out - and I ride fairly sedately. Although my bike is pretty big, (Kawasaki Vulcan 2,000 cc V Twin), I still get little rice burners trying to cut in on me, especially young female drivers, they just expect me to get out of their way. I put it down to young arrogance. But the biggest threat is young guys on 'crotch rockets', as we call them here. The sports bikes that'll do nearly 200 mph. Some these guys have a death wish, passing on corners, weaving in and out of freeway traffic at very high speed, just crazy. I had one of them pass me on my bike when I had my wife as a pillion, on a corner over double centre lines. If these guys want to kill themselves - fine, but don't try and take me with you.

I've heard there is a term for the morons on the overpowered bikes cutting in an out of traffic at high speed.

                        The call them "organ doners"
