  • 170 HP go-kart, top speed of 136 mph!

Go-kart equipped with Honda CBR1000RR engine. All that power supplied to those tiny tires makes for traction and handling challenges. I think I've seen donuts that are larger in diameter than those tires. FYI, a stock Honda CBR1000RR motorcycle has a top speed of 185 mph.

WOW! That sounds great, but the whole idea is a bit scary.

When I was at a nightly car show in Brampton a few years ago, I met a man with a rocket powered go cart that was manufactured in the early sixties. It looked like the one in this article. It turns out they were unsafe and were eventually banned. Who would have guessed that driving something with no roll cage at high speeds was dangerous?

Since posting this, and having seen the above added links and finding additional videos of fast go-karts on YouTube, 136 mph isnt as impressive as I originally thought.
