My uncle told the story of a guy he knew back in the 50's who bought a new Buick. From the beginning, every time he turned a corner he could hear a light bump. He searched for it several years. One day when he had a door panel off he found a fifth wine bottle lying in the door with a note that read: "So you finally found it, you rich bastard".

There was a lot of this type of thing in the 1950s. At the dealership that I later worked at, they had a new Plymouth with a noise that turned out to be a Coke bottle hanging in a rear quarter panel.
