  • Reading Studebaker manuals on CD-Rom

I have had my 59-64 manuals on CD-Rom for many years, and for the first time am trying to read them on my HP Windows 10 machine. The computer absolutely fails to respond to a CD-ROM. Other disks work, though. Has anyone out there encoutered this problem? Are CD-Roms not even readable on newer machines? I do not see any reference to CD rom disks in the automatic play settings. Only DVD, Blue ray, audio...
I've set everyting I could find to have the computer ask me what to do every time any kind of disk is inserted. It spins its wheels a little, but won't give me anything.

    Ideas?

Copy the files from the CD to your hard disk.

I can't do that if the computer doesn't even recognize the disk.
