  • Look at our New family member!

We call her Maroon. The old girl is 51 years old with 27,883 original miles.

She was ordered new by Bob Fellows who owned the Studebaker Dealership in Tampa Fl. He ordered it painted Avanti Maroon. It is a Jet Thrust R1 and almost a Super Hawk. Myers Studebaker did a frame off restoration in 2008. We are the fourth owners.

    Time to hit the road!

          That is a nice Hawk.
Please post the production order. I would like to see how the paint variation was handled by Studebaker. At least post what it says relative to this.

Yep...this is one lucky Hawk. An example of what can happen as a result of not falling into the grasp of one of us "CASO" folks.

Congratulations...while it is a dream for me...it's your reality.

Now that car in that color is a sight to behold...and it appears to be in very good company, too.

I have a question. On the production order it isn't clear of the final assembly date. If you determine that it came off the line on 11/27, the engine number that is handwriting says the engine was made 2 days before- November (M) 25, the year being the number before the 25 (3). Does it seem strange that the engine was just made 2 days prior?

I have an Avanti R-1 engine that never made it into a car. It was built the middle of October while the final Avanti's were made in December.

Not really, Warren...now if the car had a final assembly date of two days before the engine was built, that would be a problem! BP

Where is the engine number located? Is it unusual to have everything on the build sheet typed and something hand written?
