  • '53 Starliner home from the spray booth

First photos of the '53. Heading to the upholsterer after some final mechanical tweaks. Found the correct Tristar hubcaps but they're at the polisher. Been a long haul and I want to say thanks for the suggestions and help from you guys. My boss has two '57 Goldenhawks plus '56 Ghawk but this is his dream Stude.

Thanks folks. It was a long trip. This one was in bad shape. Finding the missing pieces was the hardest part. We tried to stay true to its early mfr. date with the Tristar logos. It wouldn't pass judgement at a hard core show but it is 99% true to originality. We weren't worried about trophies but the boss wanted to recreate his first car so there's a lot of sentimental background.

I knew nothing about Studes before he got into collecting them. I'm truly fascinated now with the breed.

Here's his "best" Goldenhawk. He bought it like this so all I've done to it was very minor tweaks, mostly electrical issues.

That happened to me once while trying to post on the forum. You can always edit your post and try to correct the problem.

Thank you sir! I know I can edit but can't figure out how to manipulate the photos on my new tablet. I need to work on that.

Wouldn't a tri-star also be on the front as well as the rear?

Not if you don't have one handy!

The front ones are getting hard to find without one of the corners knocked off. SI still has the trunk ones in stock.

We are gonna work on that later. When it came close to finalizing bodywork the hood emblem couldn't be found but if /when found we're gonna go back to it. Heck, I feel fortunate that I found the rear seat console ashtray with the tristar.

Having the tristar wheel covers is amazing. In 11 years of looking I have found only the one we put on our continental spare.

Yep! These aren't 100% perfect but not bad. I also have a set of the plain, later no Tristar caps in close to perfect shape. Those will probably go on it for daily driving.
