I've really enjoyed the picture of your wagon, Clonelark.

I had one the same color, but it did not have the chrome on the side.

        Mine was a V-8.

The funny thing about all this is that I bought mine in Tulsa,
        from Glenn Fetter.

You can read a about Mr Fetter and about my wagon in the
        "Obituaries and Eulogies" section.

I Knew Glenn well, he was one of my favorite Stude people. Last meet we went to (Branson Mo. Orphan show)he told me all about his Wagon and how we compared things. Mine is a V-8 also automatic, still 6 volt (works well so dont mess with it). He drove his 62 GT Hawk 4 speed car. I sure do miss him at the Stude meets, he was a real benifit to the Stude nation.

People were always wanting to buy my wagon. I really didn't plan
to ever sell it. It was the nicest Studebaker I'd ever had. I
made the mistake of pricing it to a guy onetime, thinking that I'd priced it high enough that I'd never hear from him again. I'd gone
to South Bend to the May swap meet and called home to see how things
were. My wife said that he'd called and said he would take the car.
I didn't know what to do then. She asked me if there were any Avanti's there for sale so I looked at them and found a '72. I got
the man's card and came on home. After I finalized the sale on the '55 I called the other man and had him deliver the Avanti.
Then in '97 we bought a new house and I sold the Avanti. I wish I
still had both of those cars.

Great looking '55. I think the wagons of 1954-57 are pretty cool.

Thank You clonelark! I've got a lead on a rusty one, and kind'a want to make it into a "panel type" service wagon for our company. I think it would be cool! It's not good enough to restore so, my conscious might be clear...
