    This is my 1953 Champion Starliner - her name is Josie and it took me five (5) years to restore her to "pure stock". It resides in Kankakee, IL.

            Can we assume you are of the Hodak family of the Kankakee Studebaker dealership Hodaks? If so, great to see the family interest in the marque has been maintained!

              Thank you for the compliments and to answer your question, yes, I am a member of the Hodak family that owned and operated Hodak Motors in Kankakee, IL for 32 years. The family now has seven vehicles:
              50 Starlight coupe
              51 Starlight coupe
              52 Champion 4-door
              53 2R5
              53 Starliner
              63 Avanti
              63 Lark Cruiser
              3 are restored, 1 is in process, and 3 are awaiting time and money.

                              Very nice! Looks perfect!

                              Question, did you have any issues with hood alignment - especially as the hood tapers?

                              I don't have the hood bumpers in yet - not sure if that is playing in or not. Seems like the hood is too wide at that point, or the fenders are too close in.

                              I removed the originals back a few years ago - and replaced with a set of NOS, which came in three pieces each and had to be welded in?

                              Thoughts?
