Sharp car! How about you open the garage door, back halfway through the door, then photograph the car so that it looks like it was just serviced at a Studebaker dealership

          Jerry,

The reference I have to Bennett Motors came from my family's Studebaker dealership records (Warta Motors on Sunrise Highway in Merrick), that showed them obtaining a '58 Scotsman 2-door via a dealer-to-dealer transfer from a Bennett Motors in Riverhead. But an online search at the New York dealership listing on www.studebaker-info.com ( https://studebaker-info.org/Dealers/NYdealers.html ) found that Bennett Motors was actually in Southhampton about 17 miles away from Riverhead. This may simply have been a mistake in entering the dealer name or the city name in the dealership's records.

The New York listing does show Wells Motors in Riverhead, established in 1953, but with an address of310 Riverleigh Avenue. There is another listing of a Studebaker dealer (but no name) circa 1939 in Riverhead which links to this picture: Click image for larger version
