  • Ralphie's Rides

These are my 1953 Commanders. The green one is in good original condition, and the red one is a "Bonneville tribute"/"hot rod" project that I am currently working on from time to time.
The transport pictures(taken before the automobiles were being shipped - after the purchase) are the only ones I have on photobucket right now. Perhaps I will get better pictures in a while.

          Hi Ralphie,

          Nice 1953 Studebakers...
I have two 1953s myself and I'm living in Sweden.
Are you a member of the Swedish Studebaker Club and SDC chapter?
Quite a few guys from Norway are.

            Hie Guys!
Sorry for replying so late. I kind of forgot that I had posted the pictures

I guess we're not really supposed to write much here, so I will try and answer you all as shortly as possible:

            Dennis(Boomer):
Thank you! Yes, the green Starlight is a good looking car. Not a Trophy winner, though. When you get real close you can see a little wear here and there. But it's a very nice "survivor"(was partly restored and repainted in the eighties). It is a great "summer cruiser", and I am very satisfied with it. I bought it from a good ol' boy(a very nice, old gentleman) called David in Ohio.

            Deepnhock:
Haha - I guess the picture you are refering to is the on of the red Starliner. It was taken in the Drammen harbour car terminal in Norway early February 2008. It was a real chilly day, but the sight of that "good ol' Stude" warmed me up.

            Rockfoot:
All(or at least most of) the nice classic cars in Norway are "tucked away" in warm garages at this time of the year to protect them from the road salt that will "eat those cars for breakfast".
You are probably also just as likely to coinsidentally see a Stude in Norway as to winning a million dollar lottery Studes are extremely rare in Norway...
By the way, there was a British TV journalist making a traveling program about Bergen a couple of years ago that asked a young teenage girl if it always rains in Bergen. She answered him: "I don't know, I am only 13..."

            Michael:
I am a member of SDC(USA) and receive the Turning Wheels on regular intervals. And I log on to this fantastic forum from time to time.
I have have also visited the Swedish forum some times, but I am not a member in Sweden - yet. Maybe soon, though I may also make a trip to Sweden with a Stude to attend on of your Studebaker car meets. I visited the A-bombers Old Style Weekend with the green Starlight last summer, and I would very much like to go back to Sweden with my Stude - also to a pure Sudebaker meet.
