Looks like a terrific project. Is it a complete car, looks to be sitting a little high in the front does it have its engine. Good luck, please keep all of us informed. Cheers

This was a car from Virgil Marples collection https://classiccarsleftbehind.com/ca...door-hardtop/? and I think it sat in storage for 30 years. The motor and transmission were missing but most everything else was there.Click image for larger version

Forgive me, what did I miss? What does a D body quarter panel have to do with a '58 Pacard J body restoration?

                      A. Because it made a great picture

                      B. They should of made a 2 door Packard Wagon so I'm going to make one or at least half of one!

                      C. Quarter panels for the 2 door hardtop are not available so you use the next best thing which just happens to be from a 2 door wagon

Ok, I think I might be starting to get a glimpse of your vision? I didn't actually grasp the depth of your meaning when you said

I see no reason, in the photos? You shouldn't be able to put the ones on the car, to good use?

Yes I agree but I was concerned due to the amount of rust in the rockers and the area below the rear window. Also the area under the "tacked" on fins is known for rust. Just like to have a back-up plan or in this case a "security" panel.

Was that car originally equipped with a supercharged 289?
