In the article there was mention of a Studebaker 340 V8, what ever happened to that?

It was deep-sixed when Studebaker Corporate Financial Lifeguard Byers Burlingame blew his whistle and yelled, "everybody out of the South Bend pool; were gonna' drain it" on December 9, 1963....along with the coil-spring rear suspension planned for 1965 (blueprints and some part numbers survive; it was gonna happen).Sigh. We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

        Ayn Rand:
"You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality."

        G. K. Chesterton: This triangle of truisms, of father, mother, and child, cannot be destroyed; it can only destroy those civilizations which disregard it.
