Anyone know of a replacement unit for my 64 GT Hawk?

There are several others that have been substituted for the original prestolite alternator. I use a GM 2 wire on mine and it works just fine. Others have used a Honda alternator which looks somewhat like the Prestolite.

      What do you need?
A Prestolite like the original or an after market replacement.

The Honda and Toyota Alt's. bolt right on and LOOK much more like the Prestolite than any other, are wired exactly the same, use the same external Regulator etc. there are many Posts about using them (with Part Numbers and Pics) to replace the standard 35 Amp. Prestolite on Larks and Hawks and would also work on Avantis if not looking for a perfect match.

Here's a link to the Toyota replacement http://www.studebaker-info.org/tech/...lt/toyalt.html
Looks like Corolla, Corona, even Land cruiser. Not sure I'd use this source though.
