Again, thanks to Mark Frank at:
MDS Engine Service
15156 South IH-35
Bruceville, TX 76630
He really helped us out and had the hub cleaned up and ready to have the wheel bearings packed and seal installed. We packed the bearings, installed the seal, pulled our hub off, slid on the new(ish) one, and were back on the road!
When we first walked into Mark's shop, I did not realize what all the capabilities were. He is very self-sufficient and can do the boring, cam grinding, honing, repair work, sleeve replacement, brakes, transmission, and anything else you may need. You can ship parts (or whole cars) to him and he can do the work and arrange to get it back to you!
If someone needs more contact info, PM me and I will pass it along.
Mark was VERY hospitable and took care of us quickly and got us back on the road to enjoy our trip! It does my heart good to encounter folks out there that will help someone in need, even if they don't know them.
Also, a special thanks to George Jensen (Cowtown Commander) for posting his phone number for me to contact while on the road. If it wasn't for George, we would have never made contact with Mark Frank. I had hoped to make contact with George at the show in Grand Prairie, but we did not make connection. We had vapor locked in the alleyway into the venue, then once there, we wandered in the huge parking lot and the heat for another 2 hours. (BTW, the PM to me has never come through....)
George even followed up after we got the hub to make sure we made it in OK. He REALLY helped out to make a week's trip turn out great!Last edited by BILT4ME; 06-23-2016, 09:21 AM.Dis-Use on a Car is Worse Than Mis-Use...

Glad it worked out for you - totally agree on Mark's capabilities. When I learned the route and realized you were going right by Mark's it seemed the perfect place to make a "pit stop".
How did your son enjoy the tour? 15 years ago I was able to make a cross country trip with my youngest son just before he left for college - it certainly was one of the highlights of my life - a "route 66" trip with my own son! Hope your son enjoyed it.
Glad to hear that you made it home safe and sound.

Thanks George!
Check out the other thread where I have yet to finish posting the entire trip. I could not post pics from my phone while traveling, so I stopped and decided I would do it when complete.
