Yes, it has been discussed here. Not to get off subject but, was this '51 in the Carrera Panamerica in 2006?

I believe that this was discussed on this SDC Forum some time ago, but I will leave it up to Craig to find it <G>.

It is not very often that I see a custom 53-54 Starliner that looks so fantastic. The original 53-54 design continues to be recognized for its original design and too many customs have not done it justice, this one is an exception; they better hurry up and get it across the border. A Corvette friend drew my attention to this today. A custom car shop called GWA is going to undertake a project to build twenty '54 hardtops to commemorate the 20 Studebaker victories (apparently more than any other brand of car) in the Carrera Panamerica race in Mexico. They plan to build 19 in bright yellow (to be auctioned) and 1 in black (to be the pace car of the race in the years to come). They only have artist renditions of the car at this time, but the styling is quite something (in my opinion).

There is a Hemmings article about it at:
    http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2...der-starliner/

The web site of the company, GWA, where we will supposedly be able to track the progress is at:
