  • Someone to look at a car for me

50 Studebaker 50 miles east of KC, 1 mile north of I70 on Hwy 13. Would someone nearby look at this for me? Much appreciated.Click image for larger version

Weird, how SOME thumbnail Pics do not enlarge enough to actually see something, most work fine and then there are the ones like this.

I'm having seller send more photos to my phone, should be better than screen shots from Facebook.

Meaning as you can see, enlarging these moves the pic from center to Top Left but still microscopic.

Screen shots by nature don't enlarge well. And are fuzzy at best.

That's a 1950 and it looks good in the first two pictures.

Yes it looks like a fairly solid and very complete, unmolested, Lower Trim Level (Deluxe?) 1950 Champion 4 Door Sedan.
The floors and Trunk will tell the story.

The 1950's do have the one-off steering and Suspension System that was greatly improved and changed in 1951, but when in good shape should work OK.

Just upgrade the brakes to 1954 to 1966 Champion or Commander Starwheel Adjusted type Wagner Brakes.

Realize that it's still 50 miles east of KCMO. I live on the west side of KC and that adds another 20 miles one way. That's a minimum 4 hour time commitment to hustle through it for you, including the 100 miles + of driving. If I had nothing to do, I'd be happy to help out, but I'm not retired by any sense of the word and have my family time and own projects to work on.

I'm waiting for anyone on the MO side to reply or even anyone near Columbia, MO.

This car has been there a while if it is the one I think it is. I've seen it near the hwy over a year ago. It's not the style I look toward, so I didn't stop. Maybe contact the Heart of America Chapter of the club and see if anyone can help out. I'm not in a club right now, so I don't have all the contacts and a LOT of the folks in this area don't follow the interwebs.

Sorry I can't help right now.

Sorry for the late update. I ended up buying the car for $650. Amazing solid floors, trunk and underside. Some rust at fender seams. Made the mistake of powerwashing interior instead of just vacuuming rodent droppings, really woke up a horrendous smell that I just couldn't get rid of. Changed oil, points and plugs, put in a battery and fuel pump. Poured gas in carb and it fired right up, ran smooth and quiet. Sold it locally for $1250. I bought a nice 51 Landcruiser from Payson Az in March of 2017 for $5000. 51 getting new wiring and returning engine bay to correct colors.
