  • 1961 Studebaker 4 Speed Manual 289

    Hi!

I am looking for a 1961 Studebaker 4 Speed Manual 289 engine for a friend who has been looking to buy one for a long time.

Can anyone give me a lead as to where I can find a seller? I would be forever in debt. My friend has been looking for many years and I want to find one as a gift to him and respect.

    Regards,

    Mel

Any Stude 289 can be linked to the 4-speed manual transmission. Sounds like you're looking for an engine and a transmission?

I sell Studebakers on ebay, and with the exception of 53-54 coupes and hardtops and maybe rag tops, it's the most requested model. Too many collectors chasing too few cars built.

I was still a fairly young kid when I sold my '61 4 speed Hawk in 1982. Given what I know today, I probably would have kept it. I actually was in the neighborhood where I sold it a month ago but could not locate his house.
